Greetings… again.
I started this little blog back in 2014 as a personal passion project for posting movie reviews. In 2017, my college friend Chris Peterson asked me to come on board his OnStage Blog to do movie reviews for him on the OnScreen section of the site.
Recently, they made the decision to move away from publishing movie reviews unless there is an angle they think will be appealing to their audience or something unique. So I am going to continue writing for them, but I still feel like, overall, movie reviews are my thing, so the majority of them are going to be parked here going forward. You can find my archive of reviews from 2017-2025 here and future content I have published at OnStage Blog I’ll be sure to link to.
I enjoy writing for OSB and look forward to creating different content for them than I have in the past, but there is some personal relief in writing about what I want to write about on here. I vividly remember Chris telling me very early on, “Listen, don’t feel like you need to go see bad movies just on account of writing for us.” (I forget what movie it was the prompted that. Maybe it was King Arthur: Legend of the Sword or Baywatch. Tom Cruise’s abysmal The Mummy???)
I did not always listen to him about that, because I did feel a self-imposed obligation or pressure to go see some movies I probably would not have gone to see. So I may end up seeing a little less at the theater, but I hope to up my game in a few areas and just write for me. Also, I enjoy posting my own content rather than submitting it to someone else.
I have no outsized notion of what this page is and what it will be. It’s still just a labor of love to just write about movies in my spare time. If that is all it ever is, that is enough.
So here is where I am and here is where I will be posting regular content.
